Theoretical Trainer (ATM)

Develop, provide and continuously improve theoretical training programmes and modules, focusing on imparting essential knowledge, concepts and best practices to improve and ensure the necessary skills and competences to meet the highest safety and efficiency standards.

What does a skeyes Theoretical Trainer (ATM) do?

Develop, prepare and deliver training in order to further develop the competences of employees. This includes among other things:

  • Writing out learning needs, learning solution designs and training objectives for full administrative elaboration of training modules.
  • Teaching generic ATM topics within skeyes, the skeyes OPS & TECH Training organisation and those with which skeyes collaborates.
  • Giving guest lectures to companies and schools from mainstream education, both with and without partnerships.
  • Developing, maintaining and updating training materials and Computer Based Training (CBT).
  • Managing and sharing training material on the skeyes Learning Management System (LMS) and, if necessary, with the training organisation(s) with which skeyes collaborates.
  • Collecting feedback regarding and critically analysing the training provided in order to evaluate and adjust the effectiveness of the training.
  • Monitoring compliance with internal and external regulations and quality standards within the training programmes.

Search for and develop improvement and innovation opportunities within the field of Training, in terms of content, methods used and necessary evolution of competences. This includes among other things:

  • Exploring and integrating broader opportunities to provide training and materials, e.g. through CBTs, AI, augmented reality and other (digital) means.
  • Finding and implementing best practices to efficiently train students to a high level of competence.
  • Drawing up analyses, reports and recommendations based on feedback & evaluation.

Collaborate with and support the Training Officers team and any external parties to ensure continuous info-sharing, alignment and improvement of training programmes. This includes among other things:

  • Assisting subcontractors or colleagues in preparing CBTs.
  • Assisting other theoretical instructors by co-teaching classes, developing course materials and providing advice.
  • Providing feedback to the team of Training Officers in order to provide them with up-to-date information and documentation regarding the course(s).

Upskill and keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in air traffic control and education by participating in conferences, workshops and training sessions to broaden and deepen professional knowledge and skills.

Candidate profile

What makes you the perfect Theoretical Trainer (ATM) ?

  • You have undergone technical training as a professional in the aviation sector (ATCO, Pilot, etc.).
  • You have an understanding of how an air traffic controller, ATSEP or Pilot training course is structured and have knowledge of the associated conditions to be met.
  • The administrative part of the job does not scare you off and you are always conscientious.
  • You have strong organisational skills.
  • You are great at coaching and training employees.
  • You have a creative mindset and combine this with innovative problem-solving.
  • You are willing to undergo continuous training in the field of coaching.
  • You speak and write English fluently and can express yourself in Dutch or French.
