Acting as a trusted advisor, you translate complex risk scenarios into pragmatic, business‑owned solutions.
You are not just coordinating continuity efforts—you are driving organisational resilience. As a senior expert, you lead through deep expertise and influence rather than formal authority, taking initiative to shape future‑proof resilience capabilities in close partnership with the Head of Risk & Resilience.
What do you do as a Business Continuity Expert?
- Drive the Risk and Resilience vision and strategy by providing expert input that directly influences skeyes’ strategic pillars: partnering with our customers, partnering with our people, and building a future-proof company.
- Develop and integrate robust, future-proof Business Continuity capabilities, embedded in organisational management and aligned with the strategic vision
- Deploy the Business Continuity Strategy as a core resilience capability.
- Define, maintain and continuously enhance the Business Continuity Management framework, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, regulatory expectations and best practices, including the CER and NIS2 Directives.
- Monitor national and international regulatory developments, standards and best practices, with a strong focus on aviation and critical infrastructure.
- Act as a key counterpart in internal and external audits related to business continuity and resilience, demonstrating the maturity and effectiveness of organisational capabilities.
- Strengthen skeyes’ resilience and competitive positioning through advanced, integrated Business Continuity Management, supporting future‑proof operations.
- Influence and align key stakeholders to drive joint initiatives embedding Business Continuity across the organisation and its wider ecosystem.
- Coordinate Business Impact Analyses
- Define, maintain and continuously improve the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) framework, ensuring it serves as a foundational input for skeyes’ resilience architecture, including continuity, contingency and recovery design.
- Lead and facilitate cross‑departmental Business Impact Analyses, ensuring depth, consistency and business ownership, while identifying critical dependencies, vulnerabilities and realistic, risk‑based continuity requirements.
- Provide expert input to management-level prioritisation and resilience-building decisions.
- Strengthen Organisational Contingency Preparedness
- Define, maintain and review contingency plans with key skeyes divisions, ensuring alignment with industry practices, technology developments and regulatory requirements.
- Support the design and coordination of contingency and crisis management exercises, including annual executive‑level table‑top exercises.
- Maintain and enhance notification, escalation and crisis activation processes, ensuring consistent understanding and application.
- Evaluate exercises and incidents, translating lessons learned into sustained improvements in contingency preparedness and crisis readiness.
- Foster a strong resilience culture and awareness throughout the organisation
- Position Business Continuity as an integral part of skeyes’ Risk & Resilience ecosystem, enhancing organisational preparedness
- Strengthen Business Continuity governance and reporting to support informed decision‑making, effective post‑crisis monitoring and structured engagement with external authorities.
- Contribute to the development and maturation of an effective Crisis Communication Framework in close collaboration with Communications.
- Design and deliver Business Continuity training and awareness programmes across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain a strong internal and external network of Business Continuity stakeholders to support long‑term collaboration and organisational resilience.
- Maintain a high level of expertise within your own and related domains, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and reinforcing professional credibility through well‑informed advisory support.
Candidate profile
What makes you the senior expert we are looking for?
- You hold a Master’s degree and have at least 8 years of relevant professional experience in Business Continuity, Crisis Management or Operational Resilience, preferably in a critical infrastructure, industrial or aviation environment, or equivalent senior expertise
- Knowledge relevant standards such as ISO 22301 and relevant BCM certifications are a pls
- You have an affinity with Risk Management, scenario thinking and systemic risk
- You combine the ability to see the broader organisational picture with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset
- You are comfortable working with incomplete information and exercising sound judgement under pressure.
- You have proven ability to challenge and influence stakeholders and build trust across multidisciplinary teams
- You are a results-driven professional with a keen eye for recognizing opportunities and meeting deadlines
- You naturally build bridges between strategy, operations and technical domains
- You consider ethics to be of paramount importance and act accordingly
- You communicate clearly and effectively, and are fluent in English and Dutch and/or French
