International Air Traffic Controllers’ Day: discover an essential profession

On 20 October, to mark International Air Traffic Controllers’ Day, skeyes is celebrating the men and women who look after air traffic every day.

From a control tower or a control centre, air traffic controllers monitor aircraft both on the ground and in the air. They organise take-offs and landings, guide aircraft through airspace and ensure that the necessary safety distances are maintained.

Their work often goes unnoticed by passengers, but their expertise, vigilance and decisions are essential to the smooth running of every flight.

Could this be the right career for you?

Would you like to find out more about the day-to-day life of an air traffic controller, the different working environments, the training or the selection process?

On this special day, skeyes would like to thank all air traffic controllers for their professionalism and dedication every day.
