Assistant Architect - Designer

As our Assistant Architect – Designer, you will focus on technical management, accurate documentation and the coordination of infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on GIS/CAD and property management.

As an Assistant Architect - Designer in aviation, you play a crucial role in the Technical Support team by helping to realise projects efficiently, safely and in accordance with quality standards.

You support the team with technical knowledge and coordination, which strengthens the collaboration between Architects, Engineers and Contractors.

This contributes to the organisation by saving time, controlling costs and ensuring a consistent design vision, in which infrastructure and processes are optimally aligned with the safety and continuity of air traffic, skeyes' core mission.

What does an Assistant Architect – Designer do at skeyes?

Technical Documentation CAD and BIM

  • You draw and adapt CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) models for infrastructure projects (buildings, networks, etc.), including revisions and variants.
  • You create, maintain and update CAD plans and BIM models.
  • you check and complete as-built documentation and ensure conformity and correct archiving.
  • You accurately and promptly update plans for underground cables and pipes based on as-built

Geographical Information & Data Management (GIS)

  • You perform GPS measurements to record the exact location of underground cables.
  • You process cable measurements in the Facility/Network Management System (such as FNT).
  • You handle and assess KLIP (Flanders) & KLIM-CICC (Brussels/Wallonia) requests by providing accurate plans and approvals.

Land & Property Management

  • You measure properties and carry out boundary demarcations for acquisition, sale or easements.
  • You monitor the property portfolio administratively, including easements, concessions and title deeds.
  • You supervise the preparation of technical documentation for environmental permit applications.

General and Project Support Tasks

  • You are the technical point of contact for in-company architects and engineers.
  • You draw up and optimise preliminary design and environmental application plans.
  • You draw up up environmental applications, bills of quantities, implementation plans and ensure administrative follow-up.
  • you implement various external studies, e.g. on stability, EPB (Energy Performance of Buidlings), techniques and fire safety.
  • you manage digital and physical archives of plans, BIM models and measurement reports.
  • you monitor compliance with technical standards, procedures and regulations (Flemish environmental permit procedure and Vlarema).
  • you launch purchase orders for materials used on a daily basis by the Buildings team of technicians.

Candidate profile

What makes you the perfect Assistant Architect – Designer?

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in applied architecture or construction engineering.
  • You have at least 4 years of experience in a similar position.
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
  • You are versatile and solution-oriented.
  • You are someone who sees work and has a hands-on mentality.
  • You are flexible in terms of hours and do not have a 9-to-5 mentality.
  • You are stress-resistant.
  • You are proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, Photoshop and SketchUp. Revit is a plus.
