Business Intelligence Analyst

As a BI Analyst at skeyes, your role is vital in extracting actionable insights from data to improve operational efficiency and safety within the air traffic management domain. You will work closely with business owners, air traffic controllers, operational managers and data scientists, to analyse and visualize data, generate reports, and provide valuable insights that support decision-making and drive continuous improvement in airspace management. Your expertise in data analysis, visualization and domain knowledge in air traffic management will contribute to enhancing the overall efficiency and safety of air traffic operations.

What does a BI Analyst at skeyes?

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data from various sources, including radar systems, flight logs, weather data, rostering data and operational databases to identify trends, patterns, and performance metrics in air traffic management (ATM), unmanned traffic management (UTM) and supporting services.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide real-time and post-ops insights on various domains within an ANSP’s business (e.g. airspace utilization, flight trajectories, ATM-UTM integration, congestion, delays, and safety-related metrics)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into meaningful analytics and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor and track skeyes’ operational key performance indicators (KPIs), contributing to regular performance reports and presenting findings to stakeholders, highlighting trends, anomalies and areas of improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and impact assessments on incidents, delays, and abnormal air traffic events, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure data availability, accuracy, and integrity for analysis, and to support the development and deployment of data-driven solutions.
  • Provide support in data governance and data quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with data standards, security protocols, and privacy regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on air traffic management data analytics, supporting cross-functional teams, participating in projects, and providing guidance on data-driven decision-making.
  • Understand data privacy regulations, and security measures to ensure data confidentiality and compliance

Candidate profile

What makes you the ideal BI Analyst?

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Aviation Management or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a BI Analyst for aviation or a similar industry.
  • Analytical and Quantitative Skills: Strong skills in collecting, analysing, and interpreting complex datasets related to air traffic management, utilizing analytical and quantitative techniques.
  • Experience developing interactive dashboards and reports with tools such as Tableau, Power BI or QlikView and proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
  • Air Traffic Management Knowledge regarding airspace utilization, flight procedures, regulations, and safety standards is an important asset.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential data with integrity and maintain a high level of trust and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Focus on data accuracy, quality and integrity, paying attention to the smallest details.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to analyse complex situations and provide actionable insights and recommendations
