As Head of our Specialised Radar Maintenance Cell, you will play a key role within a high-tech team and a closed domain.

As Head of the Specialised Radar Maintenance Cell, you will manage a team of technicians responsible for the maintenance and optimisation of our radar systems. You will ensure efficient organisation, support your team and contribute to technical improvements within a high-tech environment.

What does the Head of the Specialised Radar Maintenance Cell do at skeyes?

Team and process management:

  • Plan and follow up on preventive maintenance on the basis of the maintenance programme;
  • Promote actively motivation, cooperation and a strong team spirit;
  • Supervise continuously the operation of the systems via monitoring data;
  • Distribute efficiently tasks and on-call duties, with a focus on balance and safety;
  • Ensure availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) for technicians;
  • Follow up on and discuss training needs with the Supervisor to ensure the team's professional development;
  • Support operational reporting for the department in collaboration with the Supervisor;
  • If necessary, participate in corrective maintenance;
  • Follow up on / coordinate a group of technicians for administrative / operational purposes.

Purchasing and stock management:

  • Draw up and follow up on purchase files for spare parts;
  • Contact suppliers, issue requests for quotes and conduct negotiations are part of daily operations;
  • Monitor closely technical conformity, quality and delivery times of spare parts;
  • Designate suppliers in consultation with the purchasing department;
  • Follow up on and analyse deliveries, stock and invoicing;
  • Update actively market and supplier knowledge to guarantee continuity.

System optimisation & new installations:

  • Present and develop improvements to existing systems;
  • Participate in projects involving new systems in collaboration with the CNS/ATM/MET Project Manager;
  • Help preparing and implementing new installations with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Candidate profile

What would we ideally expect from our Head of the Specialised Radar Maintenance Cell at skeyes?

  • you hold a Bachelor's degree in electronics or equivalent through experience;
  • you have relevant experience in maintenance, preferably of radar or aviation systems;
  • management or coordination experience is an asset;
  • you have an understanding of maintenance planning, stock and purchasing management;
  • you have a structured, communicative and solution-oriented attitude;
  • you have decent knowledge of Dutch or French and excellent knowledge of English;
  • you are willing to participate in on-call duties;
  • you are not afraid of heights;
  • you are in possession of a category B driving licence.
