Physical Security Specialist

As a Physical Security Specialist, you will be part of the team responsible for the security of our premises, staff and visitors. You will combine academic knowledge with practical application and contribute to the development, implementation and execution of our physical security policy.

What do you do as a Physical Security Specialist at skeyes?

  • You will implement and coordinate day-to-day physical security measures:
    • drawing up day-to-day instructions;
    • incident follow-up;
    • monitoring events from a physical security perspective;
    • managing security verifications and issuing badges;
    • key management;
    • managing access rights.
    • You will develop security processes, procedures and concepts based on a detailed risk analysis and risk assessment:
      • analysing risks and vulnerabilities and translating these into improvement initiatives;
      • advising on best practices in the field of physical security;
      • contributing to the training and awareness-raising of staff regarding security, as well as maintaining the Physical Security department’s internal information page;
      • keeping up with relevant legislation.
    • You will provide support with internal audits, compliance and safety reports.
    • You will draw up purchase order requests in accordance with the Public Procurement Act.
    • You will oversee the technical security aspects of events held on site, in consultation with the Head of Physical Security:
      • developing a risk analysis;
      • developing temporary security concepts (both technical and organisational), taking into account potential obstacles;
      • managing security guards during the event.
  • You will supervise the team of security guards at skeyes:
    • coordinating and issuing instructions to the team of security guards;
    • monitoring the contract;
    • acting as the point of contact in crisis situations;
    • in this context, staff must also be available by telephone outside ‘normal’ working hours to provide the necessary assistance or instructions.

Candidate profile

What makes you our perfect Physical Security Specialist?

  • minimum bachelor’s degree (preferably in integral safety and security, criminology or a related field);
  • you have at least 1 year experience in the security sector; a certificate of competence as an operational or strategic manager is an advantage;
  • an affinity with both the strategic and practical aspects of physical security;
  • willingness to play an active role in the day-to-day management of the Physical Security department;
  • strong analytical skills and an eye for detail;
  • you have a good command of Dutch and French, with a basic knowledge of English;
  • you have experience in managing a team;
  • you are proficient in using the MS Office suite;
  • integrity, discretion and a sense of responsibility are a given.
