Psychologist/Coach for trainees and trainers
As our Psychologist/Coach for trainees and trainers, you combine psychological expertise, training and guidance to support trainees in their development. You help them cope with stress, performance pressure and complex operational situations, thereby making a direct contribution to safety and performance.

What does a Psychologist/Coach for trainees and trainers do at skeyes?
- Individual coaching for trainee air traffic controllers
- you conduct one-to-one coaching sessions with trainees, focusing on:
- dealing with stress and performance pressure;
- self-confidence and mindset;
- communication and self-reflection.
- you provide feedback to the training team based on relevant insights gained from coaching;
- you identify trainees’ learning needs and pitfalls and propose remedial actions;
- you observe simulator exercises and on-the-job training sessions and use these observations to provide additional perspectives within coaching.
- you conduct one-to-one coaching sessions with trainees, focusing on:
- Individual coaching for instructors and training staff
- you conduct one-to-one coaching sessions with instructors and training staff to enhance their communication and feedback skills;
- you help instructors understand how trainees perform under stressful conditions and advise them on appropriate support strategies;
- you develop tools, e-learning modules and training programmes on feedback and communication with trainees;
- you organise peer review sessions and supervision for instructors and training staff.
- Developing and delivering training for trainees and training staff
- you analyse training needs and develop training programmes on feedback, communication skills, psychological safety, performing under pressure, etc.;
- you translate your insights from coaching programmes into training modules and workshops on coaching and feedback.
- Delivering training on human performance for operational staff
- you deliver training courses on stress, fatigue and human performance to various target groups (trainees, air traffic controllers and other operational staff);
- you facilitate peer review sessions for air traffic controllers.
Candidate profile
What makes you the ideal Psychologist/Coach for trainees and trainers?
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in psychology, relevant practical experience and excellent communication skills.
Must-have
- Master’s degree in psychology (including clinical psychology, occupational and organisational psychology, and psychology specialising in human factors or aviation psychology);
- At least 3 years’ relevant professional experience in:
- supporting individuals in stressful or demanding situations;
- coaching, counselling or psychological support;
- and/or working with mental strain and trauma.
- experience in delivering training and/or leading groups;
- excellent knowledge of English is required, as this is the working language within the training and operational context.
- You must also be fluent in Dutch and/or French;
- strong empathy and communication skills;
- ability to analyse behaviour and provide constructive feedback.
Highly valued assets
- experience in a high-stakes environment (aviation, healthcare, defence, elite sport, etc.);
- experience with assessment, evaluation or learning programmes;
- experience with peer review and supervision.
