Safety Expert

You ensure aviation safety by managing, organising and coordinating safety activities linked to skeyes’ management of change process, in accordance with the internally described procedures. This in collaboration with the change leaders, operational and technical management and the Safety Management Unit [SMU].

What do you do as a Safety Expert (CNS/ATM) at skeyes?

You organise, coordinate and monitor all safety assessment activities in accordance with applicable legislation and methodology. This includes among other things:

  • identifying and analysing risks arising from proposed changes to the Air Traffic Management [ATM] system, including operational IT systems;
  • developing safety requirements and/or safety recommendations to be applied by the relevant services to ensure an acceptable level of safety;
  • monitoring and supervising the implementation of:
    • these requirements and recommendations by collecting documented evidence;
    • contingency plans and degraded modes, if applicable.

You convey the importance of safety within the operational services, in close cooperation with the SMU. This includes among other things:

  • promoting the safety culture with a view to encouraging the ‘safety attitude’ of air traffic controllers and/or technical staff, including promoting communication between them;
  • participating in all actions that promote safety in general and/or individual safety attitudes (e.g. writing articles for safety publications, leading aviation safety workshops, etc.).

Candidate profile

What makes you the perfect Safety Expert (CNS/ATM)?

  • You have knowledge of and experience within the broad spectrum of ATM/CNS/MET systems and operational IT systems;
  • Experience with ATC operations and/or processes is an asset;
  • Experience with safety assessment activities (analysis, reporting, recommendations, follow-up) is an asset (preferably in the aviation, transport, industrial or nuclear sector);
  • You have strong analytical and operational thinking;
  • You have good communication skills;
  • You have an eye for detail;
  • You have a good command of English (speaking and writing).
