Safety Expert
Would you like to help ensure aviation safety in Belgium? At skeyes, safety is paramount. As a Safety Expert, you will play a key role in further developing and strengthening our Safety Management System (SMS). You will work with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our operations meet the highest safety standards.
What does a Safety Expert do at skeyes?
Your challenge:
- You actively contribute to improving our SMS by:
- identifying areas for improvement and monitoring European and national regulations;
- involving managers, experts, air traffic controllers, technical staff and supervisors;
- implementing improved processes and manuals.
- You organise, coordinate and monitor safety assessments in accordance with applicable legislation and methodology:
- identifying and analysing risks associated with proposed changes;
- drawing up safety requirements and recommendations to guarantee an acceptable level of safety;
- overseeing the implementation of these requirements and recommendations, including contingency plans and degraded modes.
- You are an ambassador for safety within the operational services:
- promoting a strong safety culture and encouraging a safety-conscious attitude among traffic controllers and technical staff;
- participating in initiatives such as workshops and publications to promote safety;
- developing and delivering training courses, coaching colleagues and conducting reviews;
- reporting safety information, establishing indicators and analysing trends.

Candidate profile
What makes you the perfect Safety Expert?
- you have relevant training and experience in a safety-critical environment;
- experience with ATM/CNS/MET systems and/or Air Traffic Control is an asset;
- you have expertise in safety and human factors;
- experience with safety assessments (analysis, reporting, recommendations, follow-up) is a plus, preferably in aviation, transport, industry or the nuclear sector;
- you have strong analytical and communication skills and an eye for detail;
- you have an excellent command of English and preferably also speak Dutch and French.
