What does a Training Coach do at skeyes?

  • Individual coaching of trainee air traffic controllers. This means among other things that:
    • you conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with trainees, focusing on:
      • dealing with stress and pressure to perform;
      • self-confidence and mindset;
      • communication and self-reflection.
    • you feed back relevant insights from coaching to the training team;
    • you identify learning needs and pitfalls among trainees and propose remedial actions;
    • you observe simulator exercises and on-the-job training and use these observations as an additional perspective in coaching.
  • Individual coaching of instructors and training staff
    • you conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with instructors and training staff to strengthen their communication and feedback skills;
    • you support instructors in understanding how trainees function in stressful situations and advise them on appropriate coaching strategies;
    • you develop tools, e-learning programmes and training courses on feedback and communication with trainees;
    • you organise peer reviews and supervision sessions for instructors and training staff.
  • Developing and delivering training courses for trainees and training staff
    • you analyse training needs and develop training courses on feedback, communication skills, psychological safety, performing under pressure, etc.;
    • you translate your insights from the coaching programmes into training modules and workshops on coaching and feedback.
  • Training courses on human performance for operational staff
    • you provide training on stress, fatigue and human performance to various target groups (trainees, air traffic controllers and other operational staff);
    • you facilitate peer reviews for air traffic controllers.

Candidate profile

What makes you the perfect Training Coach?

  • you have a master's degree in psychology or a similar field;
  • you have at least three years of relevant experience in coaching;
  • you have experience in providing training;
  • you have experience in providing peer review and supervision to staff;
  • experience in aviation is an advantage;
  • you are willing to undergo continuous training in the field of adult learning, coaching, etc.;
  • you speak and write English fluently and your native language is Dutch or French;
  • you adopt a step-by-step, pragmatic approach, with respect for existing working practices and the individuality of services.
