Training Expert
At skeyes, we ensure safe and efficient air traffic every day. As a Training Expert, you play a key role in the development, quality and professionalisation of our training programmes. You oversee the content, didactic approach and coherence of training courses and support the Training Organisation in the continuous improvement and renewal of learning journeys.
Two training organisations operate under one roof at skeyes:
- OPS Training Organisation: training courses for operational staff (air traffic controllers and similar roles);
- TECH Training Organisation: training courses for technical staff.
You will work across OPS and TECH and contribute to a harmonised, high-quality training approach that respects the unique nature and complexity of both environments.
What does a Training Expert do at skeyes?
- You will develop, coordinate and monitor the quality of training programmes and learning journeys. In concrete terms, this includes:
- developing Learning Needs Analyses (LNA) and Learning Solution Designs (LSD) and translating these into integrated learning solutions for OPS and TECH training courses;
- developing and implementing curricula in collaboration with Training Officers and internal clients, in accordance with internal guidelines and applicable regulations;
- formulating clear, measurable learning objectives and monitoring the didactic coherence and harmonisation of training methodologies;
- integrating competence-based learning, modern teaching principles and contemporary assessment approaches;
- monitoring trends, regulations and developments in the field of training and translating these into concrete improvement measures.
- In addition, you will contribute to the development and optimisation of tools and working methods, including:
- evaluating and advising on training and learning tools and encouraging their efficient use;
- managing and updating training systems and the Training Organisation's public portal;
- monitoring correct and consistent data entry into the Learning Management System (LMS).
- You will also monitor the quality and compliance of training courses by:
- developing and applying quality measures and evaluation methods;
- preparing and supporting internal and external audits;
- carrying out qualification and licence checks on trainers and assessors.
- Finally, you will actively participate in project work and innovation, including:
- initiating and following up on training and learning development projects;
- encouraging and guiding innovative learning (e-learning, blended learning, digital assessments);
- providing pedagogical and didactic support to trainers, through coaching, lesson observations, feedback, as well as guidelines and tools.

Candidate profile
What makes you the perfect Training Expert?
- You have relevant training and/or a minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in pedagogy, didactics, learning & development, instructional design or equivalent fields.
- You have strong pedagogical and didactic expertise and know how to apply it in professional training contexts.
- You have experience in designing, implementing and evaluating learning journeys, competence-based learning, performing LNA/LSD, etc.
- You have experience in coaching trainers and providing constructive, substantiated feedback.
- You can bring structure to a complex and dynamic environment and do so using a step-by-step, pragmatic approach, with respect for existing working practices and the individuality of services.
- You are flexible in integrating ICAO's international training principles and the strict regulatory framework into the performance of your job.
- You have a good knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- You are fluent in English, both spoken and written; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a definite asset.
