What does a skeyes Urbanism Expert do?

Treat official building permit applications and preliminary advice. This includes among other things:

  • calculating and analysing the impact of third-party designed buildings, structures and installations on air traffic management and safety equipment;
  • consulting the relevant skeyes services;
  • ensuring coordination between the relevant services of skeyes and the applicant;
  • formulating advice on the applications submitted.

Develop, maintain and improve the Urbanism policy in close consultation with the stakeholders and Public Affairs & Urbanism Manager. This includes among other things:

  • acting as a point of contact for stakeholders and actively maintaining relationships with stakeholders;
  • representing skeyes in coordination meetings with stakeholders;
  • ensuring accurate stakeholder knowledge;
  • developing new procedures and/or adapting existing procedures in response to external and internal recommendations in close cooperation with the Public Affairs & Urbanism Manager;
  • ensuring communication to stakeholders regarding new or changed procedures.

Perform the necessary analyses, calculations and mapping work for compliance with aviation easements and flight procedures. This includes among other things:

  • carrying out the necessary analyses and calculations regarding our operational equipment (ILS, radars, etc.);
  • performing analyses and calculations relating to all elements that may influence aircraft operations (Obstacle Assessment Services, e-Terrain and Obstacle Data, ...);
  • calculating and defining geographical coordinates of precise positions;
  • carrying out line of sight studies.

Candidate profile

What makes you the perfect Urbanism Expert?

  • you hold at least a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field;
  • you have 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience. Knowledge of urban planning, architecture, geography and/or environmental sciences is an advantage;
  • you work meticulously and have an eye for detail;
  • you take a strong analytical approach to files and can work with complex data. You take a critical approach to the information you obtain;
  • you have an aptitude for or experience in the technical reading of permit plans and technical data sheets;
  • you have good general IT skills and are familiar with the operation of tools such as GIS, FME and a CRM;
  • you have the communication skills to present your ideas and findings to stakeholders and team members;
  • you are a true team player;
  • you are fluent in Dutch and/or French. Proficiency in English is a plus;
  • specific knowledge of the aviation industry and aviation technologies is definitely a plus.
