Accessibility statement

skeyes is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Act of 19 July 2018 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (in Dutch or French).

This accessibility statement applies to the website: https://www.skeyes.be/

Level of compliance

This website is partially compliant due to the non-conformities listed below.

Drafting an accessibility statement

A simplified external accessibility audit was carried out.

Non-accessible content

  • some buttons do not have perceivable text and therefore cannot be interpreted by assistive technologies;
  • some images do not have alternative text and are therefore not identifiable to the user;
  • some form fields and drop-down lists lack explanatory text (or an accessible name), which prevents assistive technologies from telling the user what information to enter or select;
  • some text elements on the website do not have sufficient colour contrast.
  • some links lack perceivable text, which prevents assistive technologies from correctly informing the user of their destination;
  • some frames (iframes) lack a ‘title’ attribute, which prevents assistive technologies from identifying the content or function of the embedded area;
  • the structure of some lists is non-compliant, which may disrupt the way assistive technologies announce and count list items;
  • some 'aria-label' attributes are applied to neutral elements with no defined role, making the text label invisible and useless to assistive technologies.

Proposed alternatives

There is currently no alternative.

Action plan

Add alternative text using the ‘aria-label’ attribute on buttons so that they can be interpreted by assistive technologies.

Add alternative text to images so that they can be identified by the user.

Add explanatory text to form fields and drop-down lists to indicate to the user what information to enter or select.

Adjust text and background colours to ensure a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal-size text and 3:1 for large text.

Add perceivable text to links so that assistive technologies can correctly inform the user of the destination.

Add a ‘title’ attribute to iframes so that assistive technologies can identify the content or function of the embedded area.

Adjust the structure of non-compliant lists so that they can be easily read by assistive technologies.

Correct the use of ‘aria-label’ attributes incorrectly placed on neutral ‘div’ tags by adding the missing ‘role’ attribute, which is required to validate the ARIA syntax.
